Plan Goal

To facilitate fairness and impartiality toward race, creed, color, gender, disability, and believe of cliental and implement measures to ensure that rights of citizens are being adhered to in Extension Programs.

Situation Statement

Sierra county census statistics indicate racial/ethnic distribution of: 75 percent white, 24 percent Hispanic, and 1 percent other. The largest percent of the population is located in the city of Truth or Consequences, NM with adjoining communities of Williamsburg and Elephant Butte, NM. Rural and agricultural communities comprise a larger percent of Hispanic populations in the county and 27 percent of the population is 65 years of age or older.

Target Audience and Actions

All Sierra County residents are possible clientele depending upon programs.

Short-Term Objectives

Strive to include all clientele in programs through newspapers, radio, mailings, and letters.

Educational programming will be designed to include all county residents.

Medium-Term Objectives

Develop programs that are of interest to ethnic groups.

Provide materials, interpreters and/or language facilitators when needed to insure the all clientele needs are being met.

Long-Term Objectives

Civil Rights reviews will be conducted by a committee to ensure that programs comply and clientele needs are being met.

Programs and the Sierra Cooperative Extension Service will be unbiased in there services to all clientele in Sierra County to the best of there ability.

Evaluation Plan

Reviews will be conducted periodical to insure Civil rights, Affirmative Action, and Equal Opportunity Employment.
