Civil Rights compliance by New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension Service is mandated by federal laws and is directly tied to Extension's receipt of federal funding. Noncompliance may lead to loss of funding from our Federal partner.

2011 Long-Term Objective Report:

County Agent and Staff actively seek to representatives and participants of underserved demographics on a regular basis to encourage active participation from these segments of our local population.

2011 Medium-Term Objective Report:

Advisory boards and other extension organizations were reviewed and compared to regional census figures to ensure that demographics are represented appropriately. Staff and personnel were updated during meetings and compliant processes were reviewed.

2011 Short-Term Objective Report:

Sierra County Extension Agent and County Staff remain open and available for any civil rights training opportunities as offered by NMSU. Trainings and programs are consistently open to all audiences and demographics in Sierra County.

The County Agent remains open to opportunities to participate in equal opportunity/diversity training as offered. Agent has welcomed, encouraged, and motivated all potential members regardless of race, color, national origin, sex, age, or disability.
