Civil rights compliance by New Mexico State University Cooperative Extension Service is mandated by federal laws and is directly tied to Extension's receipt of federal funding. Non-compliance may lead to loss of funding from our federal partner.

The initial Home Economics advisory board meeting is scheduled for December. There are presently 4 members. The agent anticipates membership to increase by 2-3 individuals during the following year for a more diverse representation of the population. The non-discrimination policy statement is posted on all new extension printed publications. All other publications are updated as needed.

The agent listened to the CES Civil Rights Overview program.Extension programs continue to be updated to reach potential(LEP) individuals through the use of interpretors and interpreting equipment provided by the Luna County Health Council. Appropriate civil rights filing for Home Economist related programming has begun. Will schedule a time with both county and district director to determine filing accuracy.
