August 24; The 2008 Albuquerque Tomato Fiesta I put on two ½ hour cooking demos. The first session I made gazpacho and swiss steak and the second session I made tubule and a tomato past dish using recipes from the Tomato Fiesta cook book. I had over 100 people in all sit and listen to part of my demo but definitely lined up to sample. The Fiesta was well advertised and there were many more people attended this year’s event than last years.

August 27th; The Albuquerque Christian’s Children’s Home houses children in cottages with a couple overseeing each cottage. There are 5 cottages at the site and usually around 6 children in each cottage. I shared with the cottage parents a lesson on basic meal planning and nutrition for children. The 8 house parents I spoke with had lots of questions and asked me to come back for to discuss additional topics.
