Impact Report | Competitions: The Agent, along with adult volunteer leaders and other CES staff help to plan and conduct workshops/practices for 4-Hers to learn about and master 4-H contest materials. Although, not every workshop/practice offered are highly attended, the youth who participate express their increase of knowledge and understanding for the materials and contests presented. County Contest: 93 novice, junior and senior 4-H members in Valencia County participated in this countywide event. The competitive events offered at this contest helped to develop the knowledge used in decision making, self discipline and public speaking. 4-Hers increased their life and leadership skills that include self-confidence, self-esteem, communication skills, and teamwork. District Contest: 30 novice and junior 4-H members from Valencia County participated in this event held in Sandoval County, NM. The competitive events offered at this contest helped to develop the knowledge used in decision making, self discipline and public speaking. 4-Hers increased their life and leadership skills that include self-confidence, self-esteem, communication skills, and teamwork. State 4-H Conference: 20 senior 4-H members from Valencia County participated in this event held in Las Cruces, NM. The competitive events, workshops, guest speakers and evening sessions offered at this event helped to develop the knowledge used in decision making, self discipline and public speaking. 4-Hers increased their life and leadership skills that include self-confidence, self-esteem, communication skills, and teamwork. |
