Plan Goal

In Bernalillo County there is a need research based information and there are many requests for food preparation classes in a variety of topics. The goal of the home economist is to meet these county needs.

Situation Statement

There are many requests for cooking classes in Bernalillo County and when several request come on a particular topic the home economist tries to put a class together on that topic.

Target Audience and Actions


The agent will provide information and classes in food related topics to meet the needs in Bernalillo County.

Short-Term Objectives

Participants will plan to use MyPlate, Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2012, and/or Nutrition Facts Labels to make food choices and plan meals.

Participants will plan to increase fruit and vegetable consumption.

Participants of participants will plan to adopt new food preparation and meal planning techniques.

Participants will plan to adopt new food resource management techniques.

Medium-Term Objectives

Participants will plan to use MyPlate, Dietary Guidelines for Americans 2012, and/or Nutrition Facts Labels to make food choices and plan meals.
