Plan Goal

Introduce the NEFE (National Endowment for Financial Education) into every public high school in Grant County, FY 2009

Situation Statement

Target Audience and Actions

In collaboration with the local credit union, Chino Federal Credit Union, and their goals for financial literacy, assist in training (june 2009) with Specialist from NMSU to assure every high school financial literacy class has an instructors manual, support, and NEFE materials for each student.

Also teach to various groups such as Juvenile Probation students on requested basis at least one time each year.

Every Grant County public high school (Approx 120 students) has had at least one semester (Fall 2009) to meet the required financial literacy component of NM Education Department. Instructors reported having fun with the students and found the curriculum appropriate with the high school audience and reported that the students engaged in discussions and activities.
