Plan Goal

Provide scholl enrichment programs, workshops, competition, outreach, County Council Officer Training. Anything related to youth programming.

Situation Statement

Youth development emphasizes the importance of meeting the four basic human needs of belonging, generosity, independence and mastery. Studies indicate that youth whose needs are met in positive ways are likely to develop into active citizens and contributing members of their families and communities. The Catron County 4-H Youth Development Program strives to ensure that every youth involved will have the opportunity to participate in 4-H experiences that strengthen a young person’s sense of belonging, generosity, independence and mastery. The Catron County 4-H Youth Development Program is committed to delivering research based educational curriculum and related learning experiences for youth in club, school enrichment, and special interest. Work in this area includes 4-H and other youth programs and activities that promote positive youth development. These educational activities facilitate the development of life skills, citizenship and leadership, fostering a sense of belonging and independence, providing opportunities for mastery, and creating a spirit of generosity. Through projects and activities in 4-H, youth have many opportunities to develop life and leadership skills that include responsibility, self-confidence, self-esteem, communication skills, teamwork and decision making. These skills are introduced, developed and expanded throughout a lifetime

Target Audience and Actions

The targeted audience for this plan will be 4-H as well as non 4-H youth, ages 5 to 19 in Catron County. 1.Utilize all modes of 4-H programing wanted or needed in the school systems to educate youth as requested. 2.recruit to increase membership and participation in 4-H projects and activities within the county as well as on the state and national level. 3.Educate traditional 4-H members through project work, trainings, camps, practices, book keeping, competitive events and fund raising.

Short-Term Objectives

1.During the school year this plan will provide diverse programing to the school systems. 2.Youth and parents in Catron County will be provided with information about 4-H and the Extension Service. 3.4-H members will have assistance in completing projects and provided oppertunities to gain knowledge and succeed at all levels of competition for personal achievement.

Medium-Term Objectives

Within three years this plan will be - 1.stable and expected to provide specific programs to schools at certain times to enhance thier cirriculum. 2.Advisory committee will be in place and providing information to enhance my programs and asked to complete one per year. 3.Residents of Catron County will continue to receive positive information about 4-H and Extension services. 4.Ninety percent of 4-Hers with three years of active involvement will complete all projects and participate in events on the county, state and national level.

Long-Term Objectives

1.Programs will continue to be available to schools. New programs will be introduced as needed and/or wanted. Students completing these programs will have better life skills to succeed in leadership, citezenship, and diversity. 2.Advisory may have new members, but will be active and informing to enhance youth education and activity in the county. 3.The agent will seek out new residents and provide information about 4-H and Extension services. 4.Ninety percent of youth active in 4-H beyond five years will have success within thier chosen projects and competitive events and will have knowledge of the program to use it beyond thier 4-H years.

Evaluation Plan

1.This plan will use pre/post tests to evaluate knowledg gained in school programs. At the end of the school year teachers and staff will be surveyed to evaluate services provided to them by the Coopertive Extension service. 2.Numbers of members enrolled in 4-H, members active, and their success will be compared yearly.
