Plan Goal

Develop viable programs and projects that will assist in economic opportunities for Sierra County residents.

Situation Statement

Economic Development in Sierra County has remanded stagnant for the past few decades. In the last ten years the local economy has increased through the development of small businesses and land developments. The population has increased from 9,912 in 1990 to 13,270 in 2000 that is a population increase of 25% during a ten year period. With ever increasing demands on existing facilities and goods and services Sierra County citizens are requesting more economic development opportunities.







Target Audience and Actions


All Sierra County residents regardless of race color creed, age, or financial position.

Short-Term Objectives

The agent will develop programs or projects that will enhance the lives of the people of Sierra County and promote enhancement of economic opportunities.

Medium-Term Objectives

Create economic opportunities for Sierra County residents that will enhance the life of our stakeholders.

Long-Term Objectives

Implement programs or projects that are sustainable through groups, organizations, and citizens of Sierra County that will improve their economic endeavors.

Evaluation Plan

Evaluations will be conducted through observations, projects completed, and pre and post surveys for workshops and training. Measurable objectives will be included during the development and monitored as the need arises. Feedback will be obtained through interviews and discussions as well as opinions of clientele.
