Plan Goal
To work with producers, planners, and public officials to utilize agriculture as a means of enhancing economic growth and sustainability in Roosevelt County.
Situation Statement
Roosevelt County has historically depended on production agriculture to support county business. That continues to be the case today, but new and emerging businesses that relate to production agriculture can also prove to be beneficial to the county economy.
Target Audience and Actions
The target audience is anyone in production agriculture or in a business correlated to agriculture that can benefit from improved economic opportunity. Service will be rendered to anyone needing assistance, business advice, or technical assistance afforded to them by the Cooperative Extension Service.
Short-Term Objectives
Continue current work with producers, community members, and public officials in Roosevelt County to increase public and private sector support for businesses or events that boost the economic impact of agriculture.
Medium-Term Objectives
After two years, observe a positive change in economic status of 5% for the county due to the efforts to promote economic growth relative to agriculture.
Long-Term Objectives
After four years, positive results of a 8% increase in county revenue due to the direct impact of expanded agriculture promotion and activities.
Evaluation Plan
Personal observation of agriculture and related fields making a positive impact on the economics of Roosevelt County.
Open dialogue with county clientele and community development organizers will serve as an effective tool in determining program success.
