Plan Goal

To provide programming that will contribute to and enhance in a coordinated effort with existing youth development programs on the Jicarilla Nation. To develop new 4-H youth programs on the Jicarilla Apache Nation. To provide youth educational opportuni

Situation Statement

The Jicarilla Apache Nation currently has a very small 4-H club. There are currently various community programs that provide opportunities for youth to participate in various projects. Coordination between existing programs serving the Jicarilla youth is limited.
There are some misunderstandings as to what the 4-H program is. Though promotion of the 4-H program, recruitment of 4-H families, School Enrichment; Competition; Clinics; Workshops; Outreach Efforts; Record Books; Camps; County Council; Officer Trainings; Junior/Teen Leaders; Anything related to youth. The Jicarilla Extension Project will aid youth in educational development.

Target Audience and Actions

Jicarilla Youth ages 5- 19.

Short-Term Objectives

1. To increase participation and awareness of the Jicarilla 4-H program.
2. To aid and coordinate with other youth programs in the local area.
3. To recruit families to participate in 4-H programs.

Medium-Term Objectives

Increase in completeing and submitting record books.

Long-Term Objectives

To teach 4-H youth and Families about the 4-H experience and have the youth take ownership of their local 4-H club.

Evaluation Plan

All participants will be questioned as to thier understanding of the 4-H program. 4-H youth will take ownership of their club.
