Plan Goal
To utlize applied research and outreach to inform Eddy county producer of the best fit variety selection, irrigation, nutrient use and chemical inputs which will optimize agronomic plant growth, farm profitability, and sustainability.
Situation Statement
Total crop production in Eddy County is valued at 53.25 million dollars. By providing research based knowlege on production practice including, land preperation, pest managment (weed, insect,and disease), irrigation managment, and risk managment, sustainable agronomic production can continue.
Target Audience and Actions
The audience will incude all producers in Eddy County both commercial and non-commercial.
Short-Term Objectives
To provide research based information on production practice including, land preperation, pest managment (weed, insect,and disease), irrigation managment, and risk managment, sustainable agronomic production can continue. This will be done via mass media, news letters and personal contacts and producer meeting if advised by producer advisory committee.
Medium-Term Objectives
To provide research based information on production practice including, land preperation, pest managment (weed, insect,and disease), irrigation managment, and risk managment, sustainable agronomic production can continue. Evaluation Plan
Using agriculture statistics to monitor crop patern changes and number of producers in opperation over time. Use of producer advisory committe input on effectivness of programs. Use of approperate evlauation surveys with producers.
