Adult Volunteer Leader Development (Cibola County)
This county-level plan is managed by . Print this page to create a Plan of Work signature page.
Plan Goal
Increase Cibola County Volunteer 4-H leaders’ knowledge of 4-H program and projects that are not being maximized within the county. Increase the number of volunteers involved with the 4-H program in Cibola County.
Situation Statement
Within Cibola county our 4-H leaders are very knowledge able in certain areas and are a great asset to our program however there are programs, activities, and projects that our leaders are unaware of or do not understand so the youth of the program end up missing out because there is no one to guide them which also leads to our program being less diverse in its make up as many of these projects are ones that would draw the non typical kids into our program.
Target Audience and Actions
The target audience that I will be trying to reach will be two groups. The first is current 4-H leaders of Cibola County. The second audience will be adults over the age of 19 who have knowledge that could be beneficial to the Cibola County 4-H program and would make suitable leaders. Trainings, workshops, discussions, and other sessions with current leaders will be how information would be distributed to them. Recruiting of new leaders will be done primarily by word of mouth, and by promoting the 4-H program while working with schools and other youth programs hoping to find some leaders from those programs who are already doing programs, activities, projects, etc that could fit into 4-H.
Short-Term Objectives
Increase the interest shown by area adults to be 4-H Leaders in the Cibola County 4-H program.
Increased Leader involvement in promoting 4-H programs, projects, and activities that are currently under represented by Cibola County Youth.
Medium-Term Objectives
Increased number of adult volunteers involved with the Cibola County 4-H program.
Increased participation of youth in programs, projects, and activities that are currently underrepresented due to increased promotion by leaders.
Increased participation of adult leaders in county, state, and national trainings, meetings, and workshops.
Long-Term Objectives
Increased diversity of the Cibola County 4-H program that will benefit all those involved.
Evaluation Plan
Evaluation will be done by looking at enrollment records of 4-H leaders, as well as looking at county wide participation by both adult leaders and youth in various programs, projects, and activities over the past several years.
