Plan Goal
This plan is developed to increase membership numbers, participation and gain knowledge and skills using 4-H programing, throughout Catron County.
Situation Statement
Catron County is very rural. Youth activities and entertainment are very limited. In many situations both parents work or there is only one parent present. Some children are being raised by thier grandparents. Many youth are being homeschooled, as a result they are not active in extracirricular activities in school. In all these situations there are problems, no time, travel is far, not enough money, leaving the child with idle time. Not many positive things come from idle time. 4-H provides positive projects that consume time at home as well as planning and travel with rewards. Although 4-H is availabe in Catron County,we can not always assume families can afford all the luxeries of the program. Volunteers, clubs, County Council and the fairboard continue to make possible many goals set forth by the members of 4-H.
