Plan Goal

Situation Statement

Catron County has a very traditional 4-H program. Advisory Committee input indicates that continued emphasis be placed on 4-H trough out the county. Catron county youth need more hands on activities and experiences. More activities and experiences will foster youth participation in leadership and citizenship roles.

Target Audience and Actions

All Catron County youth age 5 through 19 and their parents will be targeted. These youth will be provided leadership, citizenship and life skills learning opportunities through club work, school enrichment and other county, state and national educational and competitive experiences.

Short-Term Objectives

Make all youth 5-19 and their parents aware of the learning and leadership activities that are available in their local communities and throughout the county and state.

Medium-Term Objectives

Increase participation in club, county, district, statewide and national activities and experiences. These include but are not limited to project meetings, county, district and statewide leadership and competitive activities as well as other locally sponsored events and activities

Long-Term Objectives

Through participation in club, county, district and statewide projects and activities, Catron County 4-H youth will be able to make informed personal decisions and be able to communicate effectively with the world around them.

Evaluation Plan

The evaluation process will include an annual assessment of 4-H member enrollments. The assessment will include a determination of the percentage of eligible 4-H youth that re-enroll in the 4-H program. An annual assessment will also be made of the youth ages 5-19 years old in the county to insure all are aware of the 4-H program.
