Plan Goal

Create a greater county awareness of tourism as an economic development tool and the role that individuals, organizations and businesses plays in growing local tourism.

Situation Statement

The tourism industry is one of Quay County's largest businesses. Often how a person is treated when they stay in a community determines if they will ever come back. Repeat business is important to tourism. It is also important for visitors to have something to do while in the area.

Target Audience and Actions

Tourist that visit Quay County: help with one event per year that provides an activity for tourists.
Employees of service businesses: arrange for Hospitality trainings.
REDTT tourism council: provide support to group and their activities and help recruit new members. Assit council with grant writing.

Short-Term Objectives

The tourism council will increase membership by 2 members.
The tourism council will coordinate one tourist related activity.
Fifty people will receive knowledge of good customer service through hospitality training.
Participation in Heritage Dayzes will increase by 5%
