Plan Goal
Assist livestock producers on the Ten Southern Indian Pueblos located in Cibola, Sandoval and Mckinley Counties with educational programs to improve their livestock operations
Situation Statement
Livestock producers on the Ten Southern Indian Pueblos need to improve their herds. In the past years very little has been done to help Native Americans improve their livectock operations and drought years have not helped. Through educational information and range monitoring the producers can improve their livestock operations.
Target Audience and Actions
I will provide educational information to Native American livestock producers through educational programs and workshops on the Ten Southern Indian Pueblos.
Short-Term Objectives
By improving the knowledge of livestock production and motivating the Native American livestock producers to imporve their herds, this will help to improve their income and motivate the younger generation to continue the operation.
Medium-Term Objectives
By providing educational information about livestock selection, weaning weights, crop production and nutrition, this will help achieve the long term goals.
Long-Term Objectives
By improving the short and medium objectives livestock producers can improve their income by 30% to 40%. By improving their cattle operation some producers can become self employed.
Evaluation Plan
I will accomplish the plan of work objectives through
questionnaires and individual telephone and/or field interviews
