Plan Goal

Guadalupe County is invlolved heavliy with water on the pecos River and the use of small rivers and tributaries that give credit to the many projects that are about water .

Situation Statement

With New Mexico as a state that is cntinue to grow and with the increased water consumption it will be more apperent that water conservation will the be the neccessity . We will hope to insure conservation of irrigation water by increased drip and water monitoring . We will need to encourage more conservation of drinking water and domestic water use .

Target Audience and Actions

Our target audience will be the areas of SantaRosa and Anton Chico and all areas along the Pecos River . There is approximately 4200 people in the county but beacuse of the abundance of water more conservation is neccessary . People tend to take the water use careleesly.

Short-Term Objectives

To encourage more water conservation thru the use of computer models utilize flyer and radion programs School age youth like to see watermodels develop a drip irrigation models to take to farm meetings .

Medium-Term Objectives

Have a 10percent of all people in the county understand the importance of water conservation thru more info in the newspaper . Visit with the communitiy water dept to put out more flyers . about water conservation. Have farmers see the benefits of water quality and the need to keep water clean from nitrates and bacteria

Long-Term Objectives

Have water demonstration models that can be taken to all schools and see them whenever posible Continue toi keep water conservatin in the eyes of the public

Evaluation Plan

By sending out periodic surveys about water conservation and determnining what percentof the ppopulation is inertested and what group is working hard to conserve water.
