Plan Goal
TO MAKE FARMERS AND RANCHERS AWARE OF THE PRACTICES USED TO CONTROL OR ELIMINATE ANIMAL DAMAGE PROBLEMS ON THEIR LAND IN MORA COUNTY.
Situation Statement
IN MORA COUNTY WE HAVE 410 FARMS AND 150 RANCHES WHICH IS A LARGE PART OF THE COUNTIES INCOME. EXTENSION CAN PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLL IN EDUCATING PRODUCERS THROUGH TECHNICAL INFORMATION AND HANDS ON METHODS OF CONTROLING WILDLIFE. THIS WILL INTURN INCREASE PROFITS FOR THE FARMERS AND RANCHERS. THE MAIN PROBLEM WILDLIFE ARE PRAIRE DOGS, POCKET GOPHERS AND ELK.
Target Audience and Actions
MORA COUNTY FARMERS,RANCHERS AND URBAN PEOPLE. THE EXTENSION OFFICE WILL OFFER PUBLICATIONS,WORKSHOPS,HANDS ON DEMONSTRATIONS AND VERBAL COMMUNATIONS. WE WILL BE DOING ECONOMICALLY EFFECTIVE TECHNIQUES FOR ELIMINATING OR REDUCING ANIMAL DAMAGE.
Short-Term Objectives
10 PRODUCERS WILL GAIN AWARENESS OF PRACTICES TO REDUCE OR ELIMINATE ANIMAL DAMAGE ON THEIR LAND AND CROPS. 5OF THESE PRODUCERS WILL APPLY ONE OR MORE OF THESE PRACTICES.
Medium-Term Objectives
WILDLIFE DAMAGE WILL BE DECREASED BY 10% OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS.
Long-Term Objectives
OVER THE NEXT FIVE YEARS 50%OF THE PRODUCERS THAT PARTICAPTED WILL HAVE IMPROVED WILDLIFE DAMAGE ON THEIR PROPERTY AND INCREASED PROFITS BY INCREASING FORAGE PRODUCTION FOR THEIR LIVESTOCK.
Evaluation Plan
ON SIGHT VISITS, VERBAL AND WRITTEN RESPONSES FROM CLIENTELE CONCERNING THE EFFECTIVENESS OF THE KNOWLEDGE GAINED THROUGH WORKSHOPS, ONE ON ONE, PUBLICATIONS AND TRAINING TESTS.
