Plan Goals
Deliver educational workshops which provide continuing education credits and increase the knowledge level for child care providers in collaboration with Early Childhood Training & Technical Assistance Centers and Regional Early Care Education Conferences.

At the end of the annual Child Caregivers Workshop, 138 child care providers (56% of the total providers in Lea County) completed five hours of training. The five hours of training is applied to their yearly continuing education hours for employment as child care providers in New Mexico.
Two, one-time workshops were provided to county day care providers on discipline techniques and praising children. At the completion of the discipline workshop, 85% of the participants expressed, through a feedback form, that they felt better equipment to deal with individual discipline problems in their center. At the completion of the praise workshop, 75% of the participants, verbally expressed the knowledge they gained on positive and negative praise.
