County 4-H Home Economist planned and conducted an Arts and Crafts Fun Day for Novice, Junior, and Senior Members. 7 youth from various clubs attended the fun day. Youth were able to learn about making various crafts. Youth were able to make and decorate candles, CD Cases and Various forms of string art. Members learned about creativity and design.
County 4-H Home Economist and County Leadership Team presented a County Wide Club Officer Training to 17 youth from various clubs. During the day event, youth in learned about the difference offices available and the description of each of those offices. Then youth were divided into offices and worked on specifics that that office would be in charge of for a meeting. When the group came back together the youth put on a mock meeting. The county leadership team learned about workshop development and public speaking.
County 4-H Home Economist presented a This is 4-H workshop with assistance from the County Leadership Team. During the two day event, youth in Albuquerque learned about the many projects offered in 4-H and learned about the importance of washing our hands. The county leadership present a sanitation skit illustrating who germs spread and the importance of washing before we cook or after we play with our pets. The county leadership team learned about workshop development, a variety of projects, and public speaking. Approximately 357 youth participated in the 2 day event.
County 4-H Home Economist and County Ag Agent presented a general “This is 4-H” workshop to an elementary class at Chaparral Elementary School. During the hour presentation youth learned about 4-H, age requirements, club information, project areas, and what kids can get out of 4-H. Youth also learned about the 4-H seeds program and were able to plant a seed in class.
County 4-H Home Economist worked with County Council Leadership Team to plan and present a recognition program for the many leaders and volunteers who assisted 4-H during the 06-07 4-H year. Agent delegated duties between the various 4-H clubs and catered the event. The County Council Leadership Team worked and prepared thank you’s for club leaders, committees, volunteers and sponsors. After dinner and the banquet a dance was hosted for 4-H families and volunteers. Approximately 163 volunteers and community members attended the dinner. During the program Leadership Team members learned about time management, public speaking and the importance of thanks our volunteers.
