Home Ec Bowl Practice-County 4-H Home Economist worked with eight senior members interested in the Home Economics Bowl. Members met once a week for two months to review what was learned during study sessions. Each week youth continuously increased their scores and learned about a variety of projects. Two teams were sent to State Conference to compete in the Home Economics Bowl. One team was selected to attend National Western Roundup in Colorado

This is 4-H- County 4-H Home Economist worked with County Leadership Team to present This is 4-H workshop to 29 youth. The County Leadership Team worked for several months to design workshops on Decision Making and Judging; public speaking; recreation; and general 4-H topics. The day was divided into two sessions and youth were divided into each workshop. At the end of each session youth came together to make 4-H Friendship bracelets and learned about how 4-H started. While completing the workshop the County Leadership Team learned about teamwork, public speaking, and how to be creative in designing workshops.

Chelwood Elementary Class visit- County 4-H Home Economist worked with a nutrition educator to set up a 4-H orientation workshop for elementary classes. Agent worked with approximately 22 students to create 4-H friendship bracelets. Each bead on the bracelet corresponded to an area in the 4-H program. Students learned about what 4-H is, the 4 h’s, various projects and how to join. As a result Chelwood elementary is setting up an after school 4-H club.

Kids and Kows 4-H Workshop-County 4-H Home Economist presented a This is 4-H workshop with assistance from the Urban 4-H agent and the County Leadership Team. During the two day event, youth in Albuquerque learned about the many projects offered in 4-H by participating in 4-H: Wheel of Projects and teamwork by participating in a blanket folds game. The county leadership team learned about workshop development, a variety of projects, and public speaking. Approximately 515 youth participated in the 2 day event.

Nutrition Educators Education-County 4-H Home Economist presented a general “This is 4-H” workshop to nutrition educators. During the hour presentation educators learned about 4-H, age requirements, club information, project areas, and what kids can get out of 4-H. Contact made with nutrition educators during the workshop was used to establish contacts with schools in which educators had existing nutrition programs. Approximately 12 educators were present. As a result Agents were able to present This is 4-H workshops to educators classrooms
