Plan Goals
Increase participation of minority, low income and non-traditional audiences in Cooperative Extension programs in Santa Fe County. Participation of such audience will help to improve their economic and social wellbeing.

Bilingual Parent Night was conducted by the 4-H Home Economist to teach the parents of predominently spanish-speaking students at Cesar Chavez Elementary about family nutrition.
The 4-H Home Economist provided ICAN youth nutrition programming to 39 youth enrolled at the San Ildefonso Pueblo Day School and Headstart.
In addition the adult programs Home Economist conducted a Kitchen Creations training for 19 participant at San Ildefonso Pueblo during the month of July.

The 4-H Home Economist provided programming for 24 spanish-speaking youth attending Ortiz Middle School on Nutrition and Fitness utilizing the Exer-games.
A weeklong Sewing Camp was provided for 14 youth at New Mexico Girls Ranch which is a rehabilitation facility for young girls who are considered to be at-risk.
The 4-H Agent and Agricultural Agent submitted a grant proposal to the State 4-H Office and received funding to conduct horticultural programming for non-traditional 4-H youth in two seperate school in Santa Fe. Efforts will continue throught till May 2009.
