Impact Report County Contest Teams that competed in livestock, horse, poetry, shooting sports, favorite food show, prepared speech, entomology, range plant, and fashion revue were coached by the 4-H and Ag agent with help from the County Director. Twelve youth participated at county contest held in Maxwell, at the Maxwell Auditorium. The 4-H agent was responsible for sending out the entry forms for county contest and helping the host club prepare for the contests. At the contest the 4-H agent was responsible for registration and for the awards ceremony. These annual 4-H contests offered novice and junior, 4-Hers an opportunity to prepare and/or qualify for the district and/or state level 4-H contests. District Contest Ten youth participated at district contest held over a two day period in Roy at the high school and the community building. The agent assisted with the horse judging contest and with the transportation of students to the contest. State Conference Colfax County had nine participates at state conference in Las Cruces this year. Some honorable mentions are the Favorite food individuals which placed first and second and the talent show individual was awarded second place. Colfax County also had a member elected to the State Officer team. The agent assisted with the horse judging contest along with chaperoning four members from Colfax County.
