Impact Report This year the Sierra County Pig and Lamb sold the highest amount ever. Breeders sold over 100 hogs and about 50 head of lambs. Many of the breeders are Sierra County 4-H members. The Pig and Lamb Sale was initiated by the agent for 4-H and FFA members to purchase livestock for show, locally. Pigs and lambs also came from Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado, Wyoming, and New Mexico. Over 200 individuals purchase their show animals at the sale with the majority showing in New Mexico. 14 4-H members assisted with the set up as well as several volunteer leaders. This year the Reserve Champion Sierra County pig was purchased at the sale along with many others that made our county sale.
