Impact Report Impact: Agent in cooperation with two producers sought efforts to increase livestock profitable practices. Producer one working with increased gain of bulls has conducted a bull test with 31 head of Angus bulls. Weights are taken at every 28 days from weaning and proper vacination have been given. Weight gain is not the only issue of concern. Sires to the bulls on test were also selected for beef carcass traits. Marbling, REA, Fat thickness and Tenderness were traits that were selected. Top ten percent of bulls from the test will then be utilized for upcoming sires in the next breeding season. Producer two has 40 cows in which he A.I.ed for the 2006 calf crop. 2007 calf crop are embryo calves. Eggs were collected from three top producing cows. These eggs were put into remaining cow herd for the 2007 calf crop. Figures have not yet been compared between the two years. However calves in 2007 are certainly more consistant than the 2006 crop.
