| Impact Report | Livestock predation continues to be of serious economic concern on Lincoln county farms and ranches. This agent assists in coordination of Wildlife Services (WS) activities with producers, county "associations" that support the program and the agency. Producer confidence in WS at the beginning of the year was extremely low due to personnel and management issues. Hiring of two new trappers and a change in administration have increased levels of confidence and support. We currently are maintaining three trappers in Lincoln county. This agent responds to many requests for one on one assistance on animal health, nutrition and production issues. Many of these requests come from residents of the newly formed subdivisions. The Corona Range Livestock Research Center advisory committee coordinated with NMSU specialists to conduct a well attended field day on livestock production and management issues. |
