Impact Report County Program Director, Home Economist participated in the Otero County Civil Rights Review in February 2007. Reviewers from New Mexico State University and the Civil Rights Specialist suggested for an advisory board to be established, work to be done on the community and economic development files, correction of the ES-237 to show the non-interracial communities for 4-H, documentation of personal letters and visits with underserved audiences, use of the ADA statement and affirmative action clause on a consistent basis, and work on developing a system to maintain civil rights efforts. Maintaining the Otero County civil rights files is discussed at the monthly staff meetings with all employees. Affirmative Action and ADA statement are used on all fliers, program announcements, and advertisements for the Otero County Extension Office. County Program Director, Home Economist communicates with the 4-H Clubs and Extension Association Clubs regarding the value of diversity and the expectations for equal opportunity requirements.
