Impact Report SANDOVAL COUNTY 4-H CAMP The Sandoval County 4-H Council hosted an annual 3 day 4-H Camp at the Sandoval County Fairgrounds. Youth from throughout the county participated in educational games and presentations by team leaders, project leaders, 4-H Agent and Home Economist. Thirty-eight (38) youth including Cloverbuds along with 18 adults participated in the camp. Seventy percent (70%) of the youth and sixty-five percent (65%) of the adults were Native Americans. The workshops were designed to teach the youth and improve their skills with horse judging, livestock judging, consumer decision, shooting sports, note taking and reasons, impromptu speech, wildlife identification and horticulture. In addition, the youth learned the importance of community service and healthy nutrition. Youth gained knowledge in leadership by presenting workshops, by leading the games and activities and setting up the workshops. Many of these participants attended the NW District contest or State Conference. The success of these kids is not measured by the number of ribbons won, but rather by the compliments and comments made by other county leaders and Agents as to how much improvement they see in our youth.
