Impact Report | Multimedia Production: Treadsylvania Game The National 4-H organization in partnership with SVIA-Specialty Vehicle Institute of America, partnered with Media productions to create a game that encourages youth (10-18 years old) to engage in safe behavior and appropriate choices when given an opportunity to ride an ATV. Priority in the design process was to create a game that is so entertaining, users will choose to play it even when not specifically seeking ATV safety-related information or when directed to play by an adult. In addition, it should be appealing to youth, even those who would not identify themselves as interested in ATVs or likely to own one. The game is complete and freely available at http://www.atv-youth.org/. After being placed on Kongregate, an online download site for gamers, in 2011, the game had almost 25,000 plays. |
