Impact Report Multimedia Development: Pathogen Inactivation in Fresh Produce by Incorporation of Sanitizers into Existing Operations within the Produce-Chain In partnership with Ohio State University, this project is designed to develop cost-effective safety measures by incorporation of sanitization practices and sensors into pre-existing steps in the produce handling, processing, packaging and distribution chain. Also, project members want to increase the number of undergraduate and graduate students who are trained in fresh produce safety and sanitization practices for safety assurance. Development of intervention media will begin in Fall 2012. This project is funded by USDA’s NIFSI grant program.
