Impact Report | Regional Early Care and Education Conference Food Safety in child care is mandatory for all providers. Handling food items in the safest way during food storage and preparation is important for everyone’s health. The home economist gave providers vital information on cross-contamination, danger zone (temperature), and causes of Foodborne illness. Participants also had many questions about food safety practices as care givers of toddlers and discussion time was provided. 160 providers attended and participated in several food safety activities. The training was provided between, October 1, 2010 through September 30, 2011 at various locations. Evaluation was provided by Connections and copies were sent to the home economist. |
