| Impact Report | Fort Defiance Regional Provider Training This nutrition lesson provided care givers with tips on supporting meals with fruits and vegetables. Encouraging children to eat fruits and vegetables is sometimes a fight to the end. Educators shared simple tips on introducing small amounts of fruit or vegetables to children. The lesson also focused on the benefits of eating fruits and vegetables and they discussed preparation methods that help to reduce fat or salt or increase nutrient retention. Resources were provided for each provider and evaluation was given at the end of the session by the nutrition educator the forms were sent to the SNAP Coordinator. |
