Impact Report | McKinley County Youth Water and Energy Awareness Day was held on April 26, 2011. 350 4th & 5th grade students experienced hands-on learning activities by several agencies. The goals are to provide awareness and education that will lead to water-wise lifestyles, and understanding of surface and groundwater situations, and involvement in community water and energy conservation and pollution prevention programs. Agents from McKinley County presented the Water Ripples Board Game. The game moves through the water cycle with questions from Science, Agriculture, and includes general question about water that tests the students knowledge. Teams competed to give the correct answers before their allotted time was up. Participants enjoyed and learned many important facts about the importance of water conservation. |
