Impact Report When surveyed, 98% of the 158 participants of the 2010 Master Gardener program in New Mexico considered training in turfgrass maintenance important. All participants of the 2010 Turfgrass Irrigation Workshop in Bernalillo County reported that the information presented at the workshop will help them make better irrigation decisions and will also help them conserve irrigation water. Participants’ knowledge of understanding of turf irrigation increased significantly as a result of the workshop. Attendees rated their knowledge about irrigation requirements for turf areas at an average of 2.1 before and 3.2 after (1 = poor to 4 = excellent) the workshop. 95% of the participants reported that turfgrass training changed and enriched their understanding of turf maintenance issues to either a great extent or to a fair extent (immediately following a 3 hour training program).
