Impact Report | Program Year 2010: The agriculture agent is actively involved in youth development programming in coordination with other 4-H faculty within the Valencia County Extension Office. Over 250 youth enrolled in the county 4-H program in 2010, with an additional 41 enrolled under the cloverbud (5-8 years old) non-competitive program. The agent serves as the archery shooting sports leader, offering safety training, weekly practices, and county, district, and state competitions. In 2010, 64 youth enrolled in the 4-H archery project. Approximately 50% of enrolled 4-H youth participated in weekly programs. Of that group, over 90% of youth demonstrated significant improvement in archery scores during the 4 month program. One youth stated “I had so much fun, I didn’t want it to end”. “Winning 1st place at county contest was the best part, and I cannot wait until next year’s program to start”. |
