Impact Report 100% of local clubs participated in community service projects and 80% of youth participated in service projects at the county level in 2009-2010. Examples of Community Service Projects include but not limited to: Highway Cleanup, County Fair Clean-up, and helping during the annual Rabies Clinic. Youth increased knowledge and skills related to generosity and service learning, contributions to group efforts and responsible citizenship as evidenced by willingness to serve, appreciation of service opportunities and youth assuming leadership roles related to service. Results were reported by club leaders, and in member record books. 332 elementary school age youth from 14 schools in Grant and Catron County attended Mckeen Ranch Days, a program put on through the Kids, Kows, and More Program. The agent conducted an egg to chick booth. Youth were intrigued about hatching chicks and caring for poultry. The agent answered many questions regarding where food comes from and how raising poultry can both be fun and rewarding. 90% of youth participants benefitted through this learning opportunity evidenced by their questions asked, excitement, and happiness.
