Impact Report | Senior Leadership Retreat The goal of Senior Leadership Retreat is to help senior age 4-H youth to succeed in personal and group leadership roles. Activities and workshops led by the New Mexico State 4-H Officer Team and officers from the state of Arizona gave the eight Colfax County youth, who attended the three day retreat in Albuquerque, the opportunity to sharpen their leadership skills, which will in turn enhance the overall Colfax County 4-H program. These leadership experiences also enabled the youth to interact with other youth from throughout the state. After attending last years’ Senior Leadership Retreat, one Colfax County 4-H member decided to put her leadership skills to work by running for State 4-H secretary at State Conference in July of 2009. Her experience as a State 4-H Leadership team member was so positive that she ran for and was elected as the 2010-2011 State 4-H President. The home economist worked with the Colfax County 4-H agent to coordinate, plan and chaperone the weekend event. |
