Impact Report Twenty eight attendees increased knowledge of mechanical and chemical brush and weed control in a program this agent coordinated with Eastern New Mexico University-Ruidoso, Dow AgriSciences and Lincoln County County Cooperative Weed Management Area. Pariticpants were from Lincoln and Otero counties. Boom spray equipment mounted on an ATV was demonstrated. CEU's were available from NM Department of Agriculture for holders of pesticide applicatior licenses. Twenty four employees of county road departments, state highway department and Burlington Northern Railroad increased knowledge of ways to control spread of invasive and noxious weeds and brush. The program was designed for road maintenance workers because much spread of invasive weeds is caused by ground disturbance and heavy equipment. Topics included weed identification, chemical control, equipment decontamination and a tour of a test plot. Presenters were from NMSU, NMDA, NM Dept of Transportation and industry. CEU's were available for applicators.
