Impact Report | Range Worm Survey The agent assisted in identifying a range worm out break in the southwestern part of the county. The agent contacted a neighboring agent to assist with the evaluation of the outbreak. The agent helped the producers flag the infestiations over a ten mile radius and spray. As a result the producers were able to stop the windrowing of the range worms in two days. This resulted in a $10,000 savings of the grass that would have been affected if not treated in a timely manner. The agent and another agent have been working with another University on using glue traps to catch the larve that are missed during the spraying. The results of this reaeach will be available in 2010. |
