Impact Report Twelve youth from Valencia County participated in a babysitting 101 course. The course was conducted at a local summer recreation program with the information being presented by the Valencia County Home Economist. Youth who participated in the program become familiar with the responsibilities of babysitting. They are provided with the necessary information for them to become capable, caring, trustworthy and responsible sitters. Participants gain the skills, techniques, and confidence, needed to handle situations that could happen when they babysit. The program also helps youth to develop a positive attitude about the care of children. The participants are given a self-assessment to help them develop a better understanding of skills that are need and they are given the skills to improvement on the abilities that they currently posses that make them a competent babysitter.
