Impact Report State 4-H workshops, camps, and contests pave the way for youth to learn about decision making, citizenship, leadership, and problem solving skills. Agent chaperoned seven youth and one adult to Youth Get-Away. Youth and adults participated in workshops, games, and meetings. Youth ages 9-13 increased their life skills by 25%. They increased the number of people that they knew by 100%. As a result, they are more in tune to becoming well rounded young people. Agent chaperoned five youth and several leaders to District contest in Santa Fe. This teaches young people about competition, communication, and public speaking. Youth also interact with other youth and get to do fun things "in town". Youth increased their sewing and baking skills by 100% by partaking in these projects and demonstrating their skills at District Contest. As a result, these young people are learning life skills and how to get along in a diverse society. Agent chaperoned ten youth and one leader to State 4-H Conference in Las Cruces. This week long venture for kids 14-19 teaches them how to be young men and women. Workshops, contests, play time, night confernces, and social outings teach life skills. Particpants increased their problem solving skills, communication skills, and decision making skills by 50%. As a result of these 4-H functions, the youth of Harding County are on their way to becoming well rounded, productive members of an everchanging society.
