| Impact Report | Gardening 101 Many producers in the county have gardens every year, but have trouble with growth, soil, fertilizer, etc. Some have had gardens in the past, but have opted not to put one in this year. Agent collaborated with specialist to deliver gardening workshop to over twenty gardeners in the county. Agent coordinated with producers to bring in soil sample and sent off over 10 soil samples to identify potential problems. Specialist answered questions and gave reccomendations on timing, varieties, soil, water, and other things. Attendees increased knowledge by 80% and rejuvinated those gardening skills. Youth from local 4-h clubs were also in attendence to understand the possibility of putting in community gardens in their towns. |
