Impact Report ICAN present programs to the youth in grade schools in Clayton and Des Moines NM in Union County and Mosquero schools in Harding County. All youth grade K through 4 were reached this past year. Information on food and nutrition, My Pyramid, Snacks, Food Safety, food preparation etc. were presented to the youth and their teachers. Youth participated in hands on activities to teach various topics so that they would retain the information longer. It is rewarding when in the grocery store the student tells their mother "that is the lady that taught me how to wash my hands" or" that is the food lady" at least you know they remember. 330 youth were reached by the program.
