Impact Report | Special Events Center Sierra County has few places to hold large scale conferences and meetings in the county. The Sierra County fair board also needs more facilities for the fair. In an effort to combine the two needs the Fair Board has been obtaining capital outlay money from the State for the construction of a Special Events Center to be built on the fair grounds property. Many meetings have been held during these years to guide the process along with the agent’s involvement. During the past year the fair board building committee has written an RFP for the project and contracted with an architect to further the project along. Currently the project is in the Schematic design stage which should be completed before November. The building will benefit the community greatly providing a nice place for citizens to rent out, as well as hold meetings and conferences. The agent has spent over 10% of his time assisting with the project. |
