Impact Report Noxious weeds such as loco weed was a major problem for beef and sheep producers on the east side of the county. The Agent worked with producers to identify weeds and to develop a management/control plan for loco and other noxious weeds on their range pastures. The Agent worked in conjunction with the Union County Agent to educate 10 large ranches in the identification and management/control of loco weed. Producers were shown samples in their range pastures. They learned about types of equipment and chemicals that could be used to control the weeds. As a follow-up the ranchers were mailed packets that contained information, CD's and pictures as guides to aide them in managing and controling the loco weed problems.
