Impact Report | Kids N'Kows N'More 4-H Program: This Agent assisted co-worker, 4-H Agent Sachse, with the Kids n’ Kows educational program for APS youth. Responsibility was to facilitate the movement between five educational stations. This program objective was to expose the urban youth to the world of agriculture with five stations. Those stations were: Milk Parlor, 4-H Youth Leadership Activity, Sheep shearing, Horse Demonstration, and NM Beef Council. Each station had 18 minutes to tell about what each station represented. The timing was critical to educate, rotate and educate again. There were five and two minute warnings over the PA system, and the call to rotate groups. When the groups were late, scheduling changes had to be made. This two-day program exposed 353 youth to agriculture. The teachers were very complimentary about what they learned. The youth were given a carton of milk when the program ended. |
