Impact Report 2007 Bernalillo County 4-H Rodeo Evaluation: Met with the Bernalillo County 4-H Rodeo Committee to evaluate the August 2007 4-H Rodeo. The overall evaluation was very favorable and the profit looks to be in the $25,000 range for the event. There were still bills out and checks not cashed, but everything was coming together as per status quo. Plans were made to conduct a non-sanctioned 4-H Rodeo in 2008 due to the State 4-H Rodeo Board imposing so many additional expenses on the youth. We will continue to train the youth to participate in the sanctioned rodeos if they so choose, but it was the consensus of this committee was to have an Open Youth Rodeo to benefit 4-H, with a goal to increase participation and increase and enrollment in the local 4-H program. It was the consensus to commit to three years of non-sanctioned rodeos. Fee and payback structure will be changed with added money in rough stock events. Another goal was to increase the participation from 114 contestants to 200 contestants.
