Impact Report | SPECIAL INTEREST RIO RANCHO CHILDREN’S WATER FEST County Extension personnel provided quality educational experiences to the students of Rio Rancho Elementary schools. 640 youth from the 4th and 5th grade level gained knowledge related to water conservation, soil erosion and protection of watersheds. Youth gained life skills related to generosity and mastery by learning to learn, problem solving, critical thinking, wise use of resources and concern for others as evidenced by youth’s concern for water quantity and quality and increased ability to reason effects on plant, animal and human life. The coordinator stated “We gave each group of students a fun, engaging, informative, challenging and high quality learning experience. Several parents/chaperones mentioned this was the best field trip that they have ever attended. What a compliment!” |
