Impact Report | 2007 BERNALILLO COUNTY 4-H RODEO EVALUATION - This agent met with the Bernalillo County 4-H Rodeo Committee to evaluate the August 2007 4-H Rodeo. The overall evaluation was very favorable and the profit looks to be in the $25,000 range for the event. There are still bills out and checks not cashed, but everything is coming in as per status quo. Plans are to conduct a non-sanctioned 4-H Rodeo in 2008 due to the State 4-H Rodeo Board imposing so many additional expenses on the youth. We will continue to train the youth to participate in the sanctioned rodeos if they so choose, but it was the consensus of this committee, if we have a 4-H Open Youth Rodeo, our participation will increase and enrollment in the local 4-H will benefit. It is the consensus to commit to three years of non-sanctioned rodeos. Fee and payback structure will be changed with added money in rough stock events. We anticipate increasing the participation from 114 contestants to 200 contestants. |
